2 x 2 x 2

Just a quick blog this morning. For those of you who have not been to Brandywine (an amazing breakfast spot with two locations in Grand Rapids) you are missing the best pancakes in town. I’m not sure what they put in the batter, but it is not from this world. It must be extraterrestrial-supernatural… get two blueberry pancakes extra done, this gives them the little crispy ring around the edge. This morning I got the 2 x 2 x 2 -  two eggs (over medium), two pieces of bacon, and two pancakes (I also had to get two pieces of white toast to sop up the egg yoke).

This will be my only meal today. The pancakes have expanded in my stomach, giving me a solid dough plug, making bending over forwards a very dangerous proposition.

More exciting then the breakfast though, was the company.

It is amazing how God brings people into our lives just when we need them.  I have a buddy that I just started hanging out with a little over a year ago. At first, we noticed all the surfacy the things that we had in common (love of basketball, both foodies, kids of similar age, both sarcastic), but in time I have realized his deep and genuine love of Christ. This makes us brothers. It has been since college that I have made such a natural connection with a friend like this. We are comfortable around each other enough to get his struggles, keep each other accountable, and have genuine times of prayer. Holy crap! That’s amazing.

Breakfast meant a lot this morning. Thanks!
